Knowing My Brand

I have no idea where this blog will go.
If it will techinically "go" anywhere.
But for now this is my space.
My place to spill my thoughts.

But how dull was katiejaneshannon.blogspot.com

And then Alyssa from Rags to Stitches posted this one of her Friday Coffee Date
about Finding Your Brand.

And it got me thinking more.
About my brand.
Well I have no idea.
But what I do know is I have changed the past year.
I have allowed God to finally start working on that cold stone that was in my chest.
And GRACE.
That is been the theme of my life.

Alyssa asked in the video to think of 5 words I would want people to describe my blog.

My words:
1. Graceful
2. Transparent
3. Hopeful
4. Loving
5. Pictures

And then I asked my new bloggy buddy Amber to brainstorm with me and responded quickly with a verse that came to mind.

That verse is "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight" - 1 Peter 3:3-4

And then another friend, Kristen was helpful also and shared Ephesians 2:8 with me "For by grace you have been saved through faith"

Out of those I knew I had to somehow incorporate GRACE because that has been such a major theme for me and through grace I have learned more about who Jesus is, how Jesus sees me and how I am to treat others.

Grace.

Amber had suggested unfading beauty. Finding beauty in myself is a difficult thing for me.

But did you know this is the definition of
Grace:

grace

[greys]  Show IPA noun, verb, graced, grac·ing.
noun
1.
elegance or beauty of form, manner, motion, or action: Wewatched her skate with effortless grace across the ice. attractiveness, charm, gracefulness, comeliness, ease,lissomeness, fluidity. stiffness, ugliness,awkwardness, clumsiness; klutziness.

Do you see that beauty is right there.
In the very first meaning.

Yes, I did some praying and researching.

And one day wrote it all out.
I had 9 different names.

But unfading grace stuck out to me. I waited a few more days and this morning I told myself today was the day to decide.

And so it is....

I finally have a real blog name

"Write drunk; edit sober" -Ernest Hemingway I've never actually attempted this, but tonight I am. I've had my wine and if you know me at all it doesn't take much to get my lightheaded & giggly. I'm truly not a Windau (my maiden name) when it comes to my alcohol consumption. I put my catholic roots to shame. I'm ok with that. I'm not a mean drunk, but a purely giggly & say inappropriate thing drunk. Today stung. It stung hard. Last Tuesday we got a call for a little 5 month old baby. Technically we got a call for 4 boys but for reasons that I will not share, we could only say yes to little guy. And then there was waiting. And more waiting because our agency couldn't find a home for 4 of the little guys, they came from a sibling group of 6. All 6. Boys. That would be headed for permanent custody. In my mind all the things lined up. I had prayed for an orphan. I had been learning about how to bond with a baby in the adoption sens...
