Love Where You Live

I was born in Mountain Home, Idaho....
but that is not where I grew up.
I don't even remember Idaho.
When I was 3 1/2 my parents divorced.
My mom, brother & I headed to Lima, Ohio where my grandparents lived.

I grew up in Lima.
And no it's nothing like Glee portrays it to be.
It's an odd town.
It's not tiny, but come guys, there isn't even a Target
{first world problems right there}
I went to the same school all my life.
Which I am thankful for.
Go Bulldogs!!!!
Elida has the fight song of THE Ohio State University <--- and yes that is exactly how you are to say it. No excuses.

Then a move to Mount Vernon Ohio for College
A move back to Lima...because when you & your husband have twins at age 20 you move back home.
Then a move to Tempe, Arizona {that place will always have a HUGE piece of my heart}

And then a move back to Ohio.
We currently live in a small town in southern Ohio called

WE love it.
This is where we bought our first home, it took us almost 7 years of being married but we did it!

  1. We should always be proud of where we live and love our home town rather that's where we are now. Awesome it was home of the Bulldogs. Given that I'm from GA I'm all for the Bulldogs. GA bulldogs that is. I have a cousin who lives in Mt. Vernon. :D

  4. I love your house! And yes - I agree that it is so important to love where you live. I would bet that almost any place can be wonderful if you have the right attitude and make an effort.

"Write drunk; edit sober" -Ernest Hemingway I've never actually attempted this, but tonight I am. I've had my wine and if you know me at all it doesn't take much to get my lightheaded & giggly. I'm truly not a Windau (my maiden name) when it comes to my alcohol consumption. I put my catholic roots to shame. I'm ok with that. I'm not a mean drunk, but a purely giggly & say inappropriate thing drunk. Today stung. It stung hard. Last Tuesday we got a call for a little 5 month old baby. Technically we got a call for 4 boys but for reasons that I will not share, we could only say yes to little guy. And then there was waiting. And more waiting because our agency couldn't find a home for 4 of the little guys, they came from a sibling group of 6. All 6. Boys. That would be headed for permanent custody. In my mind all the things lined up. I had prayed for an orphan. I had been learning about how to bond with a baby in the adoption sens...
