Our Weekend

Friday after the kids got home from kindergarten Nini took them out to lunch at Barn N Bunk then Nini and Olivia headed to Kentucky to visit Suzie and Laila. So we were down to two kids. That evening we drove to the east side of Cincinnati to go to the Kolache Factory - only to find out it closed by 2:00 so we took Alex and Olivia to a mall and walked around a bit. Then we went to Dick's to get him a new mouth piece for football and a few other things.

And this happened --- the first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season.
Gosh how I love them!!!

Saturday morning I went to Martins Donuts - best donuts you'll ever have.
Then I headed to Bridgewater Fall {a shopping area near us}
I needed to find white shirts for a family photo shoot. I don't know about you but I'm a mother who stays far away from white shirts. And finding actual white shirts this time of year is no one stop task. I found Olivia's shirt at TJMaxx, mine and Alex's at Old Navy and Addison's at Target. Thankfully Douglas already has a white shirt.
.....and $60 later we're ready for this photo shoot for Saturday...
if we can even show up on time but that's a whole other story.
{{And I may have had another pumpkin spice latte while at Target}}

Then Saturday afternoon Alex had a football game. The school they were supposed to play didn't have a team so they just played each other which meant our lil Al man got to play the whole game. The kids had more fun at that game than any other game. It was fun to watch him the whole time.

Before the game -- when at Dick's on Friday night we picked up these black things to put on his face - it's not the crayon thing - they're strips.

He's number 26

Addie Boo giving her baby loves. She is really loving playing with dolls more and more. She's so sweet, she will feed her baby and pat the baby doll on the back.

He was T.I.R.E.D. after that game. He ended up going to bed at 7pm and not waking up till 7:30am Sunday morning.

Addie Boo and I took a few fun pictures before bed Saturday night.

Sunday morning.
Trying to get a picture of all 3 of my wilds is pretty much rocket science ;)
But boy, are we blessed with beautiful, spirited children!!!!!!
Sometimes I wonder how God loved us so much to bless us with Olivia, Alex and Addison!!
We are spoiled.

Church was wonderful. Our pastors started a new series called Square One --- basically talking about going back to the basics of christianity. And remembering we are not about rules but about what Jesus taught.

After church we headed back to the Kolache Factory

And boy are those things YUMMMMMMMYYYYY!
My favorites were the jalapeno popper and the carmel apple.

All in all we had a pretty good weekend!!!

  1. So glad you got your pumpkin spice latte!! I had my first salted carmel mocha a few weeks ago and I was so excited when I found out all of the fall drinks were back. {I think salted makes a big difference haha}

We are not part of his story and he is not part of ours

"Write drunk; edit sober" -Ernest Hemingway I've never actually attempted this, but tonight I am. I've had my wine and if you know me at all it doesn't take much to get my lightheaded & giggly. I'm truly not a Windau (my maiden name) when it comes to my alcohol consumption. I put my catholic roots to shame. I'm ok with that. I'm not a mean drunk, but a purely giggly & say inappropriate thing drunk. Today stung. It stung hard. Last Tuesday we got a call for a little 5 month old baby. Technically we got a call for 4 boys but for reasons that I will not share, we could only say yes to little guy. And then there was waiting. And more waiting because our agency couldn't find a home for 4 of the little guys, they came from a sibling group of 6. All 6. Boys. That would be headed for permanent custody. In my mind all the things lined up. I had prayed for an orphan. I had been learning about how to bond with a baby in the adoption sens...
