Five Favorites

Weigh loss edition.
This is a season.
Weight loss.
I've been staying away from writing about it on the blog.
The whole I've been there. That shame from being here again.
But I am here.

And while I am in the season I might as well write about it.

So for today I wanted to take time to share 5 of my current favorites in my weight loss endeavor.

1.  Water + Lemon.

I always hated lemon in my water. That was until I started drinking A LOT of water. I eventually want to get up to drinking 100oz of water a day, but some days every day coffee kinda gets in the way of that. I will never stop being a coffee lover.

2. Spin Class

This is a new love. At the beginning of the year my husband got us a membership at a small gym in our town. They offer spin class, I gave it a try. I was scared. Like no joke S.C.A.R.E.D. but I survived and love it. And I am finally at a point where I no longer need the seat cover. {Because I will warn you if you have never taken a spin class and choose to you will hurt.}

3. My Fitness Pal

I've used it before. Using it again. In order for me to stay on track I have to record my calories.

4. Polar HRM

I just love this thing. Tracks your heart rate and calories burned. It's very helpful to me because if I start slacking I can see and it reminds me to work harder.

5. Nike headband

These types of headbands, you know the kind that go around your head, always fall off. Always. But not this one. One day we were at TJMaxx, husband saw it and picked it up. I thought I'll try it and just end up giving it to Olivia. BUT...it actually stays put! So nice to keep those random frizzy strays off my face.

  1. I love the new blog look!!! It looks amazing. One of the things that I am learning about blogging about "weight loss" is that we should have no shame in it. It's a journey. We go up, we go down, but when you blog about it as healthy living it's something we'll always be working on it. No shame, just joy that you chose being on the journey. PS I just added you on Fitness Pal...yay!

    1. I am very happy with the new look of my blog. The shame is why I didn't want to write about it, but Jesus says no shame

  2. I need to write about weight lose on my blog. Super hesitant. Also I struggle with my fitness pal. I want to be good at using that app but takes a lot of work I feel like!

We are not part of his story and he is not part of ours

"Write drunk; edit sober" -Ernest Hemingway I've never actually attempted this, but tonight I am. I've had my wine and if you know me at all it doesn't take much to get my lightheaded & giggly. I'm truly not a Windau (my maiden name) when it comes to my alcohol consumption. I put my catholic roots to shame. I'm ok with that. I'm not a mean drunk, but a purely giggly & say inappropriate thing drunk. Today stung. It stung hard. Last Tuesday we got a call for a little 5 month old baby. Technically we got a call for 4 boys but for reasons that I will not share, we could only say yes to little guy. And then there was waiting. And more waiting because our agency couldn't find a home for 4 of the little guys, they came from a sibling group of 6. All 6. Boys. That would be headed for permanent custody. In my mind all the things lined up. I had prayed for an orphan. I had been learning about how to bond with a baby in the adoption sens...
