Douglas and I have decided we have a lot of extra weight.
Financially we want to get rid of the weight. We both have college loans debt {at least one of us **Douglas** has something to show with the amount of debt}, we have a car loan, small credit card and our mortgage. We have decided time to get on a strict budget and pay these off as quickly as we can, because seriously who doesn't want to feel free from the weight of debt?!!
When Doug first told me I was not on board and even now...just days later I have to keep reminding myself of the goal. Because I do NOT at all like having to be on a budget and a tight one. No room for just spending on the little things because I want it. No more going out to dinners. For now we will live extremely frugal so we can reach our goal and bask in our success.
Thankfully we don't have to do this alone! We have a God who wants us, tells us to be financially stable. I'm all about quotes and verses - those will get me through.
So you want to know the goal?
3 years.
We want to pay off the credit card, car and student loans within 3 years. Yep 3. Instead of 25. 3. WE CAN DO IT! It will be hard but it will pay off. And when we do we have decided we are going on a vacation to Disney World. Because not only is this going to be tough on us, it's going to be a change for our children.
I'm sad we will not be getting a big car after the first of the year.
It's tough not to just spend as much as I want at the grocery.
To go get ice cream when I want.
To buy the kids new clothes because Target has cute clothes on sale.
Budget. Stay positive. Goal.
Right now this is the verse I'm clinging to:
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ~Galatians 6:9
