The post I wasn't going to write

Chick fil a.
Aren't we all about sick of it.
Sick of hearing about it.
Yesterday I was reading some arguing on the topic. I didn't like it. And after a conversation with my husband who reminded me that Jesus came in to the world not to condemn it but to save it {John 3:17} We are to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Loving.

Yes we went to Chick Fil A to support freedom of speech. What the ceo was not wrong. He was asked about his marriage beliefs and he stands by the bible. That's his view, and not only his view but God's view.

But as christians we need to remember that may be our view. We would all like to see healthy, passionate biblical marriages in our own homes and families. But sadly this is not reality. Not everyone will be a christian. That is our choice - that is why God gave us free will.

But our mission is not to make others feel like we are better than them {Pride} or that they are evil. We are to love. To love like Jesus. To make relationships and lead them to Jesus. To have a real life - a life of honesty. Not to hide from our own sins, but when we do sin seek forgiveness and to try to live a holy life. We will never be perfect, remember that was Jesus' job?!

Today on facebook a friend posted this:

My first reaction, my flesh reaction, was like whatever. But as I went outside and sat on the deck {of course coffee in hand} Jesus gently spoke. HE reminded me that this is true. How many of us are actually helping the lost? the poor? the orphans? the widows?

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me" {Matthew 25:35}

"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these , you did for me (Jesus talking to his disciples explaining the above verses) {Matthew 40} --Read the whole passage ->Matthew 25:31-46

What a reminder I have had this week.

I want to be the salt and light of the earth.
I want to love like Jesus.
I want Jesus' love to radiate out of everything I do.

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me (Jesus). Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Yes... I believe we should stand up for biblical values, live with integrity. But lets lead others to Jesus, to freedom by living with Jesus radiating out of us - not condemning but loving.

  1. Its a silly hot button issue now days. What the CEO said was not hate speech, it was a personal opinion and he should have every right to it.

Most of my Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) friends that I am friends with are mostly die hard conservatives as ironic as it sounds and support Chick-fil-a right to speak their views. When you are forcing other people to your view point then things get out of hand. The liberal side has actually been the ones to try to force people to be "open minded" and "tolerant" in a very intolerant manner.

Though I know all to well the pain of hate by those that profess to be Christian or Conservative if politically speaking expressing a view is not the same as hate.

Saying you don't agree with gay marriage is not hating a gay. Firing them from a job, beating them, harassing them can be hate but disagreeing is much different. What happened to agreeing to disagree, it seemed like 10 years ago people could debate (not argue) views and some people would agree others wouldn't but now its got to the point of boycotts, talking about hate speech, bigots, etc.

In the end its not about chicken sandwiches, its about ideas / viewpoints, if people got together and volunteered, help build houses or went overseas for missions, its something both sides could do and it would mutually help out everyone.

Love is better then hate and right now the world and both sides need loved with Christ's love because human love only loves those who agree with them, true love can love those who disagree or even hates you.
