Friday Coffee Date

I haven't done a Friday Coffee Date in weeks & with the looks of my hair, the very essence of pure exhaustion & the 3 pimples we'll just stick to words typed out.

///If we were having coffee I would tell you I'm so thankful for the words in this book. I saw something about this somewhere in social media space and requested it at the library.
Words of encouragement, understanding, scary words, words that put a balm on that always slightly open wound.
If you are a foster parent, someone who thinks upon it or even someone who just wants more understanding into the world of foster care I encourage you to read this.///

///If we were having coffee I would want to tell you about THIS blogpost I read on Incourage's site a few weeks ago. I would tell you that when I want to get frustrated with having to go back home to get the forgotten glasses or lunchbox I am reminded I get to do this. I get to be their momma.///

///If we were having coffee I would tell you that we have had so many calls for placements the past month & a half. It breaks my heart. Yes, we're in this & no so secretly dying for a placement. But the need for healing is lives is so great and can seem so overwhelming. We've said a lot of yeses and have had to say a lot of nos. We're still waiting, but I'm becoming more at peace in the waiting...at least for today.///

///If we were having coffee I would tell you that I'm bummed, jealous & slightly annoyed at all the "I just bought my influence ticket" posts.
Ouch.
Yes, you read that right.
Why? I was beyond crazy blessed last year.
Like so blessed.
I had people who saw past my fear, my awkwardness & my too much fluffiness and spoke life right into my heart.
But this year....well so far the pieces aren't falling into place to go to the conference. So yes, right now I'm feeling all the icky feelings.///

///If we were having coffee I would tell you that having my windows open yesterday was SO GOOD for my soul. So good. But the fact that it was lightly snowing this morning made me feel seasonal claustrophobia. That's probably not even a real thing.///

If we were having coffee what would you tell me?

  1. Totally get the conference thing, I haven't been but am not able to this year because we are making a huge move next spring. But God knows what is on our hearts and is so faithful! :)

But seriously I love it! And let me tell you I can put some tacos back. Our best friends and us have actually started Taco Tuesday so on Tuesdays we make tacos. Now we're just at a point of trying to make it a healthier Taco Tuesday. 2. I love music so much. I love to dance. I love to sing. I love to be surrounded by music.
